Each year Queensland and the Gold Coast host local, national and international sporting events including the Gold Coast Airport Marathon, Brisbane International Tennis, Rugby Union, Australian Surf Life Saving Championships, Quicksilver and Roxy Pro professional surfing, Magic Millions Carnival, Gold Coast 600 V8 Supercars, National Beach Volleyball Series and Gold Coast Triathlon.

Delivery of GC2018 and investment into new and redeveloped sporting infrastructure across Queensland has improved our ability to attract and host international sporting events. The Gold Coast alone has invested over $200 million in new and improved sporting infrastructure, bringing the city’s venues and stadia in line with Olympic and world-class standards.
